We are a team of teachers, therapists, and physicians responding to the need in our community to experience life with more ease and calm, to master equanimity, and to build resilience. We are committed to making a difference in the lives of those around us, one teacher and one student at a time.

  • Meg Fredrick

    CO-FOUNDER + EXECUTIVE DIRECOR

    Meg is passionate about improving the lives of teachers, students, and members of the community through mindfulness and positivity. She believes strongly that our happiness is a moral obligation, and through the practice of gratitude and positive psychology interventions, we can thrive and flourish in our lives, creating change in our communities.

    Meg graduated with her B.A. from the University of Dallas in 1983 and her Masters of Arts in Teaching with an emphasis in Positive Psychology from Colorado College in 2007. In 2014, she was named Teacher of the Year at Cheyenne Mountain High School. Her continued development includes a certificate in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction in 2018 and participating in the Colorado Springs Leadership Institute Class of 2023.

    Devoted to serving her community, Meg served as President of the National Charity League from 2000 to 2002. She was also a foster parent from 1995 to 2000.

  • Jeff Kenefsky

    CO-FOUNDER + CURRICULUM DEVELOPER

    Jeff has been a teacher at Cheyenne Mountain High School for the past 21 years. He currently teaches Economics and a new positive psychology course, Mindfulness, Positivity, and Well-Being at CMHS.

    Jeff graduated from Concordia University with his Masters of Arts in Teaching and also holds a Graduate Certificate in Secondary Economic Education from UCCS.

    Jeff serves as the lead facilitator of Cadet Health and Personal Skills at the United States Air Force Academy. He also was chosen as the Koelbel Enterprising Teacher of the Year for Colorado in 2019. When he isn’t practicing mindfulness, Jeff enjoys following Oregon Duck football and extolling the virtues of Pickleball.

  • Daniel Kirby

    PROGRAM FACILITATOR + SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS COORDINATOR

    Kirby brings over a decade of experience spanning across K-12 education, higher education, and the private sector. After proudly serving in roles as a school counselor, administrator, and district crisis response and prevention co-lead, he believes any organization can thrive with passion, collaboration, and humbleness to those served and supported.

    He holds two master’s degrees—one in Counseling and Human Services (2005) and another in Educational Leadership (2010)—and is currently a doctoral candidate (ABD), focusing his research on school climate, mental health and wellness policies. He has presented nationally and internationally on these topics.

    When Kirby is not teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in educational leadership, psychology, or consulting in areas of counseling, he is outside active and present with his family, embodying the same healthy habits and skills that The Mindfulness and Positivity Project promotes.

  • Elliott Mitzi Williams

    CHIEF STRATEGY OFFICER

    Elliott is passionate about helping mission-driven organizations tell their stories with clarity. He wears many hats at the MPP to support organizational messaging, strategy, and fundraising.

    Elliott studied Political Philosophy at Colorado College and began his career as an El Pomar Fellow, where he led statewide nonprofit initiatives and supported community foundations across Colorado. He later founded Elliott Mitzi help nonprofits and small businesses move their missions forward

    Based in Denver and originally from Vermont, Elliott has worked with more than 20 organizations across Colorado and New England. He is committed to collaborating with community-focused teams like The MPP to build a better world.

  • Jackie Melin

    CO-FOUNDER

    Jackie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a private practice who feels that her profession is more than her career; it’s also a calling.

    She has been companioning people through the challenges of life for almost 25 years and continues to find fulfillment and joy in her profession. Jackie is a co-founder of The Mindfulness and Positivity Project. Jackie feels that teaching mindfulness has helped her to become a more grounded, loving, and compassionate human.

    In her free time, Jackie hikes with her pups, plays pickle ball, and reads books. Jackie is grateful for her husband and two daughters for reminding her everyday that life is beautiful and to be lived.
